New Look New Name

I discovered people out there actually read my blog. So in honor of that I am creating my very own personal blog. You say well what did you have before? It was a spin off of La Vida Dulce who I might add has taught me everything I know about blogging and who bugs bloggers to death until they update their post. (Right Lara) You see she "told" me to read hers and then told me to create one and being the loyal friend I am I obeyed. Now I might add it is a lot of fun and a great way to keep up with those far away. So on that note meh, I hope you will get the blogging bug and create a blog of your own so we can keep up with Michigan.(BTW you can now comment on mine) Anyway the name came from the fact that I live on a Texas Ranch, however prior to cattle the only thing we had on our ranch were Fire Ants. Mr Ant Rancher spent all his time trying to heard those things hence the name the Ant Ranch. Since then we have added a horse, cattle, a peacock and many different dogs and cats who have come and gone thanks to the howling friends of the night. So as you can see life is crazy on the ant ranch.

My vintage find

I mentioned that when I went to see my friend (that becomes anxious in clutter) that we went to a vintage store. This was my bargain. For $2 I bought a not very old omelet maker. Now in the past I have made omelets the old fashioned way with a regular pan. My kids really enjoy omelets and I enjoy kitchen gadgets so I thought this was perfect. The omelets tasted delicious and even looked good!

Running???????????

I received this magazine in my mail box and thought that the postmaster had made an error and put it in the wrong PO BOX. I investigated and found that it was addressed to me. HMMMMMMMM I think a practical joke from a friend or a sign from above. As I looked at the cover and saw the title "99 Inspiring Reasons to Run" I immediately thought of 100 good reasons not to. The magazine caught my attention so I opened it up. Now don't get me wrong I am not opposed to running or anything it has just been a long time since I have done it. My days of a 3 or 4 mile run went away after my first child. (and he is 17) anyway I opened up the magazine and saw lots of adds for running shoes and energy bars. I read articles of real people who have started running for example the 402 man from the Biggest loser who lost half his body weight and is training for a marathon. I will keep the magazine in view and see if it helps in the mean time it will be one foot in front of the other as I walk the track. To all my running friends I say go get em! By the way they sent me this magazine because I "ran" a local 5K in February. Don't tell them I actually walked it because they are sending me two more free issues. Might be a great reason to get some new sneakers eh!

Is it Fall Yet

Well football has started and there are fall and winter items hanging in all of the stores however the weather feels very hot and muggy. yuk. I am ready for some cooler temps, homemade soups and something pumpkin. Oh by the way that beautiful pumpkin cake you saw on La Vida Dulce Blog Well let me just say there were only crumbs on that plate when I arrived for my visit. But she does make some yummy chocolate chip cookies. The days are getting shorter and it is harder to get up in the dark. When do we fall back? I do like the order fall brings. new school schedules, Moms groups, Bible studies (and lunch with friends) Missed you Thursday Lara. What I don't like is that they have already filled hobby lobby and garden ridge with Christmas supplies. Talk about burn out by the time December rolls around. No wonder everyone forgets the real meaning of the holi-day too much commercialism. Ok enough about that I hear there is a cold front coming in Monday that will take us down to the 80's YIPEEEEEEEEEEE

The blogging Queen is holding me hostage and making me blog before I depart the beautiful south. For a novice blogger it is difficult to blog under pressure. I will do my best only because there is chocolate involved. Actually it has been a weekend full of chocolate countered with walking three miles and drinking diet coke :) I must say it was a fun weekend filled with walks on the beach, talks on the beach and ooooow wait a minute that is sounding a little mushy. so let me say the most interesting part of the trip was a visit to a little shop called Grannies Panties. Actually it was a wonderful old house filled with vintage items and was called Everthing but...Grannies Panties although I think I saw them burried under a pile of "vintage" clothing. I would hesitate to say that everything in there was vintage since I remeber wearing and using some of the items I saw in there. Now I know the blogging Queen has refered to me as her vintage friend but you know what she is no spring chicken. My eye sight is definately better than hers she kept thinking the bouys on the ocean were birds. I better sign off and get out of this computer room before she comes in and flogs the blogger.I am going to head back to the ant ranch and La Vida Loca .
Only a crazy person schedules a flight on 911. See ya back in Texas :)

Resurrection

I'm at a loss for words, there's nothing to say
I sit in silence wondering what led me to this place
How did my heart become so lifeless and cold
Where did the passion go?
When all my efforts seem like chasing wind
I've used up all my strength and there's nothing left to give
I've lost the feeling and I'm down to the core
I can't fake it anymore.
chorus:
Here I am at the end I'm in need of resurrection
Only You can take this empty shell and raise it from the dead
What I've lost to the world what seems far beyond redemption
You can take the pieces in Your hand and make me whole again, again
You speak and all creation falls to its knees
You raise Your hand and calm the waves of the raging sea
You have a way of turning winter to spring
Make something beautiful out of all this suffering
chorus 2:
Here I am once again I'm in need of resurrection
Only You can take this empty shell and raise it from the dead
What I've lost to the world what seems far beyond redemption
You can take the pieces in Your hand and make me whole again, again
You have a way of turning winter to spring
Make something beautiful out of all this suffering

Montego Bay Jamacia

I'm Baaaaaaaaack!

Well well well. 7 days of pure bliss! What is better than cruising around the the carribean, eating all you want and enjoying your family? NOTHING! 7 days days of pure hell! What is worse than coming back from vacation? 12 loads of laundry, going back to work, not having time to blog and an upper respiriatory infection.
Sorry ladies I could not find the energy to do anything last week. No I was not hung over on rum under a pile of laundry although that would have been better than coming back and being sick!
Ok enough whining!
The cruise was fabulous and yes Lara I did bring back rum as well as the coffee. Next week we have a date! Kel we will toast ya and try not to be overloaded before noon. With the coffee I mean. (Lara what she doesn't know won't hurt her!) OK you know I am new at this blogging stuff so here goes my first attempt at posting a picture.
First stop on the cruise was Jamacia, Ya Mon. Actually, we said no mon a lot more shopping was a little scary everyone wanting to braid your hair and sell you their stuff. Then we went down to Doctors Cave a private beach andthat was fun. tThis picture is the beach and hotels behind the beach (the tourist) part of Jamacia.

Bon Voyage

In less than 6 hours we will leave our home and head south towards Galveston to board the Conquest for 7 lovely days with out email or cell phones. We are all so excited to sail out into the beautiful Carribean Sea. After 52 hours of work this week the first thing I am going to do is catch up on some Z's. Ya man we are going to visit Jamacia, Grand Cayman and Cozumel. As I listen to the dryer tumble the last of the laundry I think about my blogging friends and their laundry wars. Well wait til I get back that may have to be my first picture post....the large pile of laundry I will face after taking 5 people on a ship for 7 days! But right now no worries!
We are off to find nemo and good Jamacian coffee that I will share with my new neighbor & blogging friend.
